Os produtores de cacau são frequentemente forçados a vender os seus grãos de cacau frescos a empresas privadas, grandes corretores locais de cacau, a cooperativas rapidamente e a preços abaixo do ideal, porque não têm o know-how para fermentar os grãos sozinhos.
Este breve vídeo instrutivo, desenvolvido para pequenos agricultores de cacau, explica como os agricultores podem fermentar seus grãos recém-colhidos em casa usando apenas duas cestas de bambu, algumas folhas de bananeira e seis dias de tempo!
O vídeo explica esse processo passo a passo. Com essa nova habilidade, os produtores de cacau podem armazenar os seus grãos de cacau fermentados e secos e vendê-los a um preço justo!

This free training video in Portuguese was developed for smallholder farmers in East Africa looking to grow their income by processing cocoa beans at home.
By the time they complete the video, smallholder farmers will be able to:
- Describe the advantages of fermenting freshly harvested cocoa beans at home,
- List the simple materials needed to ferment cocoa beans at home,
- Describe the steps required to ferment cocoa beans at home, and
- Explain the length of time needed to ferment cocoa beans at home.
