The State of the Enabling Environment for Civil Society in Afghanistan

This report prepared by the Afghanistan Institute for Civil Society (AICS) shows that there are reasons to be both concerned and hopeful for civil society in Afghanistan. Through a mixed methods approach, this research evaluates the legal, socio-cultural, governance, operational, and security environment. The report also presents key recommendations for Government, civil society, and donors.
