Universalising Preschool in Zanzibar – Summary Report

Description

Zanzibar, a semi-autonomous part of the United Republic of Tanzania, is moving towards a universal compulsory preschool system.

The Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (MOEVT) is taking a practical approach to this task, building on all existing preschools, government and non-government, while planning to draw on the success of its key partner, the Madrasa Early Childhood Programme-Zanzibar (MECP-Z).

This report outlines several suggested modifications to the strategy.
